NADIA COEN is an inter-disciplinary creative director + designer with extensive experience in communication and environmental / experiential graphic design for cutting edge exhibitions + installations. Her work encompasses creative direction, ideation, curation, branding, book + publications, collateral, and large scale environmental experiences.

Nadia was born and raised in Zimbabwe, and has been living in NYC practicing art and exhibition design for over 20 years.

Recent projects include the permanent redesign installation of the Alice Austen House Museum which opened in May 2019, the design of The September Issues, 3, Revisionism, bi-annual magazine and Calabar Sports and History Museum, in Kingston Jamaica.

Past projects include the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis Tennessee, the startup identity, branding + signage for MoCADA, The Museum of African Diasporan Arts, and the travelling exhibition of the Amazing Works of Hans Christian Andersen launched in Denmark.

Coen’s work extends beyond the environmental and incorporates print, web and creative direction of multi-media design. As a visual artist, she was part of the early East Village art movement in New York City. She was co-creator of the seminal limited edition book + street project, YOUR HOUSE IS MINE. This work and other projects have been exhibited and acquired by numerous national and international museums and collections such as MoMA, The Whitney Museum, Paul Getty Foundation, Pompidou Center, France and others.
